Responsibilities:
- Assigned as working lead (sub-lead / area lead or project lead) for multiple sustaining capital projects.
- Manage assigned work effectively, prioritizing, executing, reporting, managing schedule and budget.
- Establish the scope of work, effort hour estimates and deliverable lists.
- Design LV, MV and HV Single Line Diagrams, including PC&M (Protection control and metering) Diagram with strong knowledge of relay and metering systems associated with substations and e-houses.
- Prepare Electrical load List and perform electrical equipment sizing calculations (i.e. Transformer sizing, Cable sizing, NGR sizing, MCC sizing, grounding calculation etc.).
- Define Electrical Area Classification, and develop area classification schedule/report.
- Provide procurement support as package RE (Responsible Engineer) by preparing Electrical equipment specifications, data sheets, material requisitions for quotation/purchase, and technical bid evaluation and vendor drawing reviews for E-house and electrical equipment.
- Perform electrical system studies using ETAP or SKM to develop load flow, short circuit, arc flash, harmonic and motor starting analysis, protection/relay coordination and Relay setting files (Eaton, GE and SEL protection relays).
- Program GE and SEL relays by using the vendor software.
- Review and support the development of electrical layouts (Electrical Substation/E-house layout, Cable tray, lighting, grounding, Schematic, wiring drawings etc.).
- Review and support EHT design and calculation.
- Supervise, mentor, coach, and support the team members on projects.
- Provide Electrical BOMs and major equipment costs for capital cost estimates at various project stages.
- Attend project team meetings, client meetings and vendor review meetings.
- Review designs for constructability and accordance with project requirements.
- Perform field visits to validate existing drawings and confirm tie-in locations.
- Utilize the workshare office or HVEC (High-Value Engineering Center) to complete the electrical deliverables.
- Attend FAT / SAT (Factory Acceptance Test / Site Acceptance Test).
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

| Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: |
|
|
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
- Degreed in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
- 10 years or more of relevant experience in the refining, petrochemical, chemical process, or power generation industries is preferred.
- Experience with FACP (Fire Alarm Control Panel) and it’s interfaces with various system.
- Knowledge of Interfacing with DCS, SCADA, PLC etc.

Communication:
- Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

|
Behavior/ Core Competencies:
- Experience with different stages of projects, i.e. Conceptual, Pre-FEED, FEED and detailed engineering projects.
- Knowledge of domestic and international codes (CEC, CSA, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, API, NEMA, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal leadership skills are critical due to the requirement for effective communication of complex issues across the organization as well as for mentoring and consensus building.
- Understand business drivers, management of change requirements, project management processes, and construction workflow.
- Experience managing vendor electrical packages (substation, e-houses, Transformers, VFD etc.) as a responsible engineer (RE) will be an asset.
- Experience with High-voltage design, ETAP or SKM experience and experience with Lightning Protection will be an asset.
- Experience in the EPC industry, leading the local and workshare team will be an asset.
- Experience with performing EHT calculations by using Thermon or N-vent software will be an asset.
- Experience with electrical building design.
- Leadership skills, team player, proven multi-tasker with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet assignment schedule & deliver quality products under pressure.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
- Strong computer background including experience with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
