Requirements
  • A degree in Design, Communication, Video Production, Audio Production or a closely related field and professional experience (other than teaching) in Design, Communication, Video Production, Audio Production or closely related field as defined here: Master’s Degree or MFA AND Four (4) years (8,000 hours) professional experience OR Bachelor’s Degree or BFA AND Five (5) years (10,000 hours) professional experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in a major unrelated AND an Associate of Applied Arts degree in Design, Communication, Video Production AND Six (6) years (12,000 hours) professional experience OR an Associate of Applied Arts degree in Design or Communication AND Seven (7) years (14,000 hours) professional experience.
  • Two (2) years (4000 hours) of related work experience. One (1) year (2,000 hours) of related occupational experience may be waived if the occupational instructor has at least two (2) years of post−secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within 5 years prior to the date of appointment.
  • Two (2) years of full-time equivalent teaching experience in a related area at an accredited college within the past five (5) years may be substituted for the one (1) year of related work experience within the past five (5) years.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for instruction in the Video Audio Design program including but not limited to the following courses: Video Production, Audio Production, Animation, and Design Production.
  • Develop and plan appropriate instructional strategies and alternative delivery strategies when appropriate including but not limited to hybrid, face-to-face and on-line course delivery.
  • Participate in in-service meetings, staff development training or other activities or programs requested by the Department.
  • Assist and advise students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
  • Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, evaluating student performance and maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling, etc.
  • Maintain competencies as an instructor as aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
  • Assist students in developing work experience assignments such as internships, work study assignments, team projects, etc.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the college’s mission, vision and values.
