Requirements
  • The candidate should have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should have good attention to detail and be able to recognize discrepancies.
  • The candidate should be pursuing a degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or have equivalent experience.
  • The candidate must have a valid driver's license.
  • The candidate must be physically able to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach, and climb at a construction site.
  • The candidate may be exposed to high noise levels.
  • The candidate must be able to perform extensive sitting at a desk and computer, with some standing, bending at the waist, stooping, and reaching.
  • The candidate must be able to lift 5–20 pounds occasionally.
Responsibilities
  • The intern will work collaboratively with Project Managers and project teams.
  • The intern will support and manage a team of construction professionals.
  • The intern will build relationships and communicate with coworkers, owners, design partners, subcontractors, and field crews.
  • The intern will review and draft technical submittals, including schedules, shop drawings, and work plans.
  • The intern will understand and assist with project layout.
  • The intern will identify critical work items and procure long-lead items.
  • The intern will assist with contract administration, including budget and change procedures.
  • The intern will assist with material procurement and logistics.
  • The intern will work with subcontractors, suppliers, and the workforce to resolve field problems and conflicts.
  • The intern will maintain as-built drawings and manuals.
  • The intern will conduct research and accurately report on project status.
  • The intern will perform quality control inspections and check work for compliance with contract documents.
  • The intern will verify that proper materials are used and that installations meet project timelines and requirements.
  • The intern will affirm safety compliance and enforce proper protocols and personal protective equipment requirements on site.
