- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
- Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
- Strong drive, respect, and understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
- Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification.
- A current Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, obtained within six months, or willingness to obtain one.
- Provide planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards of care.
- Build trusted relationships with residents, families, and teams through continuous, ongoing, and effective communication.
- Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make changes as required.
- Complete and ensure residents’ clinical care assessments, care plans, and documentation are accurate and up to date, and communicate changes as required.
- Teach, delegate, and direct unregulated care providers, providing coaching and mentorship.
- Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers.
- Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community care, complex care, or long-term care.
