Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
  • Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
  • Strong drive, respect, and understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
  • Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification.
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, obtained within six months, or willingness to obtain one.
Responsibilities
  • Provide planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards of care.
  • Build trusted relationships with residents, families, and teams through continuous, ongoing, and effective communication.
  • Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make changes as required.
  • Complete and ensure residents’ clinical care assessments, care plans, and documentation are accurate and up to date, and communicate changes as required.
  • Teach, delegate, and direct unregulated care providers, providing coaching and mentorship.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers.
  • Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community care, complex care, or long-term care.
