Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A culinary degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of restaurant, senior living, or equivalent cooking experience is preferred.
  • Ability to follow recipes and directions accurately and consistently.
  • Knowledge of cooking preparation and production.
  • Ability to meet cooking standards for speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Ability to meet cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization standards.
  • Ability to prepare diets according to policy, procedure, nutritional and dietary criteria, and local regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Perform full-scope, hands-on production cooking in the Community Culinary Services Department.
  • Produce and serve menu-cycle programs that comply with required nutritional and dietary criteria and prepare prescribed diets according to policy and procedure.
  • Assist with serving meals and washing dishes as necessary.
  • Visit residents periodically to evaluate food-service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance.
  • Conduct evaluations and revise operations or procedures to improve food service.
  • Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner that supports a positive marketing environment.
  • Support a culture in which business decisions and employee engagement drive top-line revenue and occupancy.
  • Maintain hospitality standards when interacting with residents, coworkers, and guests.
