The Role

To be successful in the role: you are a talented, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in delivering consistent results. You are keen to follow and improve repeatable processes within a growing Financial Technology company. You have a firm understanding of customer-relationship best practices, underwriting-related concepts, and the commercial construction industry.

What You’ll Do

• Research contractor and project information through third-party data providers to provide appropriate diligence for all contractors and projects.
• Coordination with sales and account management teams on additional document requests, incomplete data, and approval/decline rational 
• Determine preliminary notice and mechanic lien eligibility per project 
• Work hand in hand with sales and underwriting teams to move projects through the pipeline to be eligible for funding 
• Regularly communicate both good and bad news to our contractor customers and general contractors 
• Support and contribute to the department’s process improvement.
• Research and record business background checks for all associated stakeholders on a project 
• Support internal projects, such as internal audits and updates to the internal, contractor, and supplier procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Required 1-3 years of experience in Underwriting, Credit, and/or Lending
• Required 1-3 years of experience with Salesforce (or comparable CRM and ERP system)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication & presentation skills
• Exceptional organization skills
• Preference for repeatable processes
• Preferred experience in the Construction Industry
• Preferred experience in startups/small business environments
