The Role
To be successful in the role: you are a talented, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in delivering consistent results. You are keen to follow and improve repeatable processes within a growing Financial Technology company. You have a firm understanding of customer-relationship best practices, underwriting-related concepts, and the commercial construction industry.
What You’ll Do
- Research contractor and project information through third-party data providers to provide appropriate diligence for all contractors and projects.
- Coordination with sales and account management teams on additional document requests, incomplete data, and approval/decline rational
- Determine preliminary notice and mechanic lien eligibility per project
- Work hand in hand with sales and underwriting teams to move projects through the pipeline to be eligible for funding
- Regularly communicate both good and bad news to our contractor customers and general contractors
- Support and contribute to the department’s process improvement.
- Research and record business background checks for all associated stakeholders on a project
- Support internal projects, such as internal audits and updates to the internal, contractor, and supplier procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Required 1-3 years of experience in Underwriting, Credit, and/or Lending
- Required 1-3 years of experience with Salesforce (or comparable CRM and ERP system)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication & presentation skills
- Exceptional organization skills
- Preference for repeatable processes
- Preferred experience in the Construction Industry
- Preferred experience in startups/small business environments
