We are looking for a Senior Compliance Data Analyst with a strong analytical background and expertise in compliance reporting to support our regulatory obligations and business objectives. This role is critical in ensuring data integrity, accurate reporting, and efficient processes to meet ever-evolving industry standards.
This position will play a key role in developing, managing, and automating compliance reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate submission to regulatory bodies. This individual will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to interpret reporting requirements, gather and analyze data, and generate insights that enhance our understanding of regulatory impacts on the business. The ideal candidate has a background in Property & Casualty Insurance, strong analytical and data management skills, and a passion for data-driven decision-making.
What are the Senior Compliance Data Analyst key responsibilities?
Compliance Reporting and Analysis
- Lead the preparation and validation of compliance reports ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
- Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to develop data queries, perform data analysis, and produce required outputs.
- Collaborate with the Regulatory, Underwriting and Claims teams to stay informed of new or changing reporting requirements.
Data Management and Quality Assurance
- Design and implement data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency in compliance data.
- Maintain data dictionaries, mappings, and documentation to support transparency and understanding of data flows and structures.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues, working with data stewards and other departments as necessary.
Process Optimization and Automation
- Leverage data tools and automation technologies to streamline compliance reporting processes, reducing manual work and increasing efficiency.
- Develop and maintain automated workflows and processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to improve reporting accuracy and timeliness.
- Continuously monitor and optimize reporting processes to enhance productivity and scalability.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
- Act as a liaison between the Data, Regulatory, IT, and Business units to ensure alignment on data requirements and compliance objectives.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to assist business leaders in making informed, compliant decisions.
- Prepare and present data findings, insights, and regulatory updates to various audiences, including senior management.
What is required for the position?
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in data analysis, compliance reporting, or a related role within the Property & Casualty Insurance industry.
Insurance Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of Property & Casualty Insurance business concepts, including policy and claims life cycles, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific data standards, to effectively support compliance reporting and analysis.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), and ETL processes.
- Experience with regulatory and compliance reporting standards and best practices within the insurance sector.
- Familiarity with Snowflake is a plus.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy, detail orientation, and data quality.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and present data insights to stakeholders.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic regulatory environment, manage multiple priorities, and respond to new regulatory requirements promptly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance reporting in insurance, including familiarity with NAIC, NISS, MCCA requirements and state-specific DOI reporting obligations.
- Certification in Data Analytics, Data Management, or a related field.
