Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • One to three years of progressive engineering experience in quality or a related field, or equivalent industry-specific experience in automotive Quality Assurance or Engineering.
  • Certification or demonstrated equivalent ability in a technical problem-solving discipline such as Six Sigma, Shainin, or Kepner-Tregoe is preferred.
  • Knowledge of original equipment manufacturer corrective action processes is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary quality interface with Rivian at the Normal, Illinois automotive assembly plant, ensuring timely communication, alignment, and escalation of quality-related concerns affecting production.
  • Lead issue identification and documentation, including creating detailed Quality Alerts with descriptions, defect details, and supporting data for manufacturing plant investigations.
  • Support and drive root-cause investigations with cross-functional teams using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and 3L5W.
  • Review, validate, and follow up on 8D reports to ensure containment, root cause, and corrective actions meet original equipment manufacturer expectations and prevent recurrence.
  • Represent SEWS in customer meetings, issue reviews, and escalation forums, and lead technical discussions or disputes with the IQ team using data and engineering analysis.
  • Provide on-site technical support during launch and production, including troubleshooting, interpreting drawings and specifications, and coordinating containment activities to minimize operational impact.
  • Promote and assure standards issued by SEWS and SEWS Quality Assurance in alignment with company values, objectives, and quality requirements.
  • Work safely, maintain a safe work environment, and practice good housekeeping.
  • Travel to Mexico and other locations in the United States as needed.
