Requirements
  • 10+ years of technical services experience in a complex production environment — not a traditional agency — across Print, Digital, Social, and Motion technologies
  • Demonstrated experience managing and nurturing teams of Developers and Technology Managers, with a track record of attracting, retaining, and growing technical talent
  • A solid understanding of AI and machine learning technologies, including practical experience specifying, building, or implementing AI-powered tools and solutions within a production or creative technology environment
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows — comfortable using and promoting tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/Claude for code generation, scripting automation, prompt engineering, and AI-enabled QA/testing
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks, APIs, and platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Azure AI, AWS AI/ML services, Google Cloud AI, or similar) and an understanding of how to integrate these into production systems
  • Familiarity with scripting and programming languages commonly used in production automation (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Shell scripting) with the ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate coding, troubleshooting, and solution development
  • Experience in building and deploying complex production technologies
  • Experience in implementation of large-scale projects and ideally change management processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
  • Guide, manage, and develop a team of Developers and Technology Managers, setting clear goals, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Spec, design, and oversee the build of AI-powered production tools and platforms — from requirements gathering and solution architecture through to development, testing, and deployment
  • Encourage and promote the use of AI-assisted coding and scripting tools across the development team (e.g., GitHub Copilot, LLM-based code generation, automated testing frameworks, AI-enabled debugging) to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and reduce repetitive manual development tasks
  • Evaluate emerging AI/ML technologies (including generative AI, computer vision, NLP, and smart automation) for application within production workflows, recommending and implementing solutions that deliver tangible efficiency and quality gains
  • Build and maintain AI-powered automation pipelines for content production, asset management, quality control, and workflow orchestration
  • Accountable for delivery of assigned projects to time, scope, and quality
  • Advise and connect with stakeholders internally and externally, developing warm, trusting working relationships with various teams across the business and with key client contacts
  • Ensure project plans are signed off and have met quality standards and guidelines before deployment
  • Ensure projects are accurately recorded within agreed tools
  • Ensure all tools are deployed following consistent agency standards, e.g., our internal tool OMG
  • Map and deploy agreed process changes, including AI-augmented workflows and adaptive routing and prioritisation systems
  • Ensure key documentation is created and training is provided to new team members, including AI tool onboarding and upskilling programmes for the wider production team
  • Provide input into ongoing process improvements and changes to ensure the team is continuously improving, leveraging data insights and AI to inform and shape direction
  • Establish best practices and governance frameworks for responsible AI use, including data privacy, ethical AI standards, and quality assurance for AI-generated outputs
  • A desire to be in the detail — systems, processes, profitability, utilisation, production, and delivery
  • Experience in fast-paced agencies. This business manages scale and speed across the USA and Canada
