Leidos has secured a contract worth $56 million from the Naval Health Research Center to conduct behavioural health research and operational assessments for US military personnel. The 66-month programme will focus on identifying risks and protective measures affecting service members' health, performance, and readiness throughout the deployment cycle. The work aims to develop evidence-based strategies that enhance resilience and reduce adverse outcomes for armed forces personnel. Leidos will help translate scientific findings into practical solutions for improving force readiness and optimising performance. The Naval Health Research Center is one of eight laboratories within the Navy Medical Research & Development Enterprise responsible for optimising operational readiness and health of US armed forces through behavioural health, epidemiology, and disease surveillance research.

Students at immersive AI camp explore career paths. Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming how Csr Company solve problems, make decisions, and address some of the world's most complex challenges. Advancing AI responsibly requires more than technology alone. It requires curious, skilled innovators who can build, question and improve the systems shaping the future. This is why Leidos partnered with North Carolina Central University's (NCCU) Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Research (IAIER) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to give the next generation of innovators firsthand experience building with AI. Real world examples make AI careers tangible. From July 15-17, twenty rising high school juniors and seniors from North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Colorado participated in an immersive AI Career Immersion summer camp on NCCU's campus in Durham, North Carolina. The three-day program introduced students to generative AI, computer vision, and reinforcement learning through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on projects, and conversations with technology professionals. The goal was simple: help students see themselves not only as users of AI, but as the people who will create, improve, and responsibly advance it. The program was developed under the leadership of Corey Hendricks, Leidos vice president of Solution Architecture and an NCCU alumnus. Working alongside NCCU faculty and AWS technical leaders, Hendricks helped create an experience that connected emerging technology concepts with real-world applications. Its goal was for students to see that they can build the technologies shaping its future - and that companies like Leidos are eager to help them get there. Being able to work with my alma mater to help introduce these students to the possibilities of AI made this experience especially fun. The experience culminated in a DeepRacer competition where students optimized their models, evaluated performance and explained their design decisions, reinforcing the importance of experimentation, critical thinking and responsible AI development. Connecting students with real-world innovation. The camp brought together the strengths of industry and academia to give students a real-world perspective of how AI is developed and applied. NCCU faculty introduced students to the foundations of artificial intelligence and machine learning, while AWS and Leidos experts provided hands-on instruction and connected emerging technologies to real-world applications in areas such as trusted AI, cybersecurity and computer vision. Preparing tomorrow's workforce requires more than teaching students about artificial intelligence. It requires giving them opportunities to see themselves as creators, problem-solvers and future leaders in the field. Each participant earned a certificate of completion and received resources to continue exploring AI beyond the camp. Anduril wants both halves of $1.5 DHS counter-UAS contract. Stay Connected Find opportunities - and win them. Anduril is unhappy that it did not land spots in both portions of a $1.5 billion Homeland Security Department contract for counter-unmanned aircraft systems. The company won a position as one of the comprehensive service providers in track two, but did not receive an award in track one for hardware/software and ancillary services. Anduril is challenging DHS' evaluation of its proposal and argues that it should have received awards for both tracks of the five-year C-UAS vehicle, awarded earlier this month. Track one winners are BAE Systems, CACI International, Dedreone Defense, D-Fend Solutions, EMS Defense Technologies, Fortem Technologies and Leidos. Anduril's competitors in track two are Astrion, BAE, Booz Allen Hamilton, General Dynamics IT, Leidos and Parsons Corp. DHS received 57 offers for track one and 47 for track two. Bidders could pursue both tracks if they wanted to. Anduril filed its protest on Aug. 12. A Government Accountability Office decision is due by Nov. 20.
Leidos reported strong second-quarter results, beating analyst estimates across key metrics. Revenue reached $4.56 billion, up 7.2% year-on-year and surpassing expectations by 2.6%. Adjusted earnings per share of $3.26 beat forecasts by 12.1%. CEO Thomas Bell highlighted robust demand in the Defence segment, which posted a 2.2 book-to-bill ratio. The company raised its full-year revenue guidance to $18.3 billion and lifted adjusted EPS guidance to $12.35 at the midpoint. During the earnings call, analysts probed several areas. Questions focused on government in-sourcing impacts on the MHS GENESIS programme, Health segment margin expectations amid suspended incentive payments, and free cash flow growth drivers. CFO Chris Cage emphasised strong cash performance and ongoing efficiency projects. Management pointed to maturing programmes and new fixed-price contracts supporting future margin expansion.
