Requirements
  • Provide a master's-level degree or equivalent in statistics, biostatistics, or a related field with medical research content.
  • Have a minimum of 6–9 years of relevant experience, inclusive of postgraduate years.
  • Demonstrate strong, in-depth understanding of statistical theories and principles.
  • Have SAS programming and clinical trial data analysis experience within the medical device, pharmaceutical, and/or biotechnology industry.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of clinical trial design and analysis.
  • Have SAS proficiency, including nonparametric analysis, linear and nonlinear models, categorical data, and survival analysis.
  • Have experience with electronic data capture systems.
  • Have experience with electronic health records systems.
  • Understand basic medical information and be able to explain statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
  • Have knowledge of regulatory guidelines, including FDA/CFR and ISO 14155.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision and make guided independent decisions.
Responsibilities
  • Provide statistical expertise to clinical development projects and individual studies as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in department and cross-functional meetings to optimize clinical study designs, endpoints, and analysis strategies.
  • Collaborate with project team members to establish project timelines and develop and implement protocols.
  • Develop statistical analysis plans covering statistical methodology, derived variables, data-handling rules, and mockups.
  • Coordinate and perform data analysis and validation and provide data interpretation.
  • Provide statistical input to regulatory requests to support and defend clinical programs.
  • Collaborate with clinical scientists, thought leaders, and medical writers on publication of study data.
  • Perform inferential analyses and provide input to the statistical section of the clinical study report.
  • Review clinical study reports and support the study team in moving them through review and approval.
  • Provide statistical insight into the interpretation and discussion of study results.
  • Develop and test SAS programs to generate data sets, tables, listings, and graphs.
  • Develop and test SAS programs for quality control and validation of SAS programs, data sets, and tables, listings, and figures generated by others.
  • Develop SAS programs to create derived variables and data sets, including last observation carried forward and adverse-event data requiring multiple merging and cleaning procedures.
  • Create documentation describing SAS programs, including specifications for protocol analysis data sets.
  • Provide guidance to junior programmers or statisticians.
