Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nurse program.
  • Current and active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta is required.
  • Current and active Basic Life Support Provider cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive client assessments.
  • Develop and implement client plans and care addressing physical and psychosocial care needs.
  • Monitor ongoing client care and condition to ensure optimum functioning.
  • Report changes in client status to the Staff Nurse.
  • Administer prescribed medications.
  • Supervise the delivery of medications by unregulated staff.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Apply nursing knowledge, skills, and judgment to assess client needs and provide nursing care consistent with the LPN's education and knowledge.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with applicable professional standards, codes of ethics, and Carewest policies.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
