Requirements
  • A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent Pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy is required.
  • An active Pharmacy Intern license is required in the state where the district is located.
  • The candidate must be a foreign graduate from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy before beginning the training program.
  • The candidate must obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based within 120 days of completing US intern hours.
  • The candidate must complete the required US internship hours within 18 months.
  • The candidate must successfully pass the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination and Test of English as a Foreign Language before becoming eligible for the role.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
  • The role requires regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • The candidate must complete required training and obtain required licensure within applicable guidelines.
  • The role requires lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • The candidate must demonstrate skills in patient counseling, active listening, customer and community engagement, consumer behavior, negotiation and conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, time management, digital literacy, results orientation, and colleague engagement.
Responsibilities
  • Work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist in a retail pharmacy environment.
  • Support patient safety, pharmacy professional practice, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, customer service, inventory management, and workflow management, excluding final prescription verification.
  • Manage patient care programs to help maintain healthy customer and patient outcomes.
  • Greet customers courteously in-store and at the drive-through window, answer questions, and respond to telephone calls professionally.
  • Request assistance and collaborate with others to resolve customer concerns and maximize satisfaction.
  • Perform approved cash, check, and charge register transactions and bag merchandise.
  • Maintain customer and patient confidentiality under HIPAA, company standards, and applicable laws.
  • Comply with federal and state laws, regulations, CVS policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, counting and measuring drugs, capping and uncapping containers, and labeling prescriptions.
  • Resolve third-party rejections and complete manual claim forms.
  • Perform prescription pickup procedures according to CVS policies and procedures.
  • Access, input, and retrieve information using the pharmacy workstation.
  • Maintain inventory levels and follow inventory management and replenishment procedures.
  • Assist with putting away drug orders, except Schedule II drugs, as permitted by law.
  • Deliver allowable health care services, including point-of-care or swab-and-send testing and immunization preparation or delivery, as permitted by state regulation and certification.
  • Support the supervising pharmacist with dispensing drugs, reviewing prescriptions, and monitoring compliance.
  • Offer counseling and refer customers to the pharmacist when necessary.
  • Address medical questions when appropriate and communicate with health care professionals to support optimal care.
  • Collect relevant medical history information when applicable and provide appropriate advice under supervision.
  • Practice and develop pharmacist duties according to law.
  • Communicate with field management and corporate teams as needed.
  • Participate in required store operational meetings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy department.
  • Support scheduling activities based on business needs and the workflow model.
  • Coordinate and implement training and development for pharmacy support staff.
  • Complete required training programs.
  • Lead team efforts to identify business opportunities, implement solutions, improve pharmacy performance, and achieve specified goals.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three to five years of related work experience is preferred.
  • Eligibility to immunize is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
  • Once state regulations are met, immunization is expected as an essential pharmacist function.

CVS Health beats Q2 revenue and profit estimates but faces questions on sustainability

Nine major PBMs to display TrumpRx prescription drug prices from 2027

Nine pharmacy benefit managers will integrate TrumpRx prescription drug pricing into their benefit tools, effective 1 January 2027. The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association and participating PBMs—including CVS Health, Express Scripts, Humana, and OptumRx—will display cash prices from TrumpRx alongside plan coverage costs. The agreement covers commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans. Patients will see TrumpRx prices for all listed drugs, whether through presidential deals or standard pricing. CMS Administrator Dr Mehmet Oz said the commitment will help patients compare prices and find better deals. PCMA CEO David Marin stated the transparency will allow consumers to make better-informed choices about prescription drug costs. Some PBMs will use Real Time Benefit Tools to display pricing comparisons, whilst others may employ different methods.

AbbVie acquires Apogee Therapeutics for $10.9B amid pipeline expansion

AbbVie has announced a $10.9 billion acquisition of Apogee Therapeutics in June 2026, aiming to strengthen its drug pipeline. CVS Health Q2 earnings beat expectations, partners with Eli Lilly on weight loss drugs

CVS Health reported second-quarter net income of $2.98 billion, or $2.31 per share, significantly beating analyst expectations of $1.85 per share. Revenue rose 7% to $106.10 billion, surpassing the forecast of $100.11 billion. The company raised its full-year adjusted earnings guidance to between $7.90 and $8.10 per share, up from $7.30 to $7.50 per share. Revenue guidance increased to at least $414 billion from $405 billion. CVS announced a partnership with Eli Lilly, with the CVS Health app to display pricing for Lilly's weight loss drugs Zepbound and Foundayo starting in early fourth quarter 2026. The company also reduced MinuteClinic virtual weight loss consultations to $29, eliminating membership fees.
