Requirements
  • All applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • All applicants must be enrolled or willing to enroll as soon as reasonably possible in an accredited apprenticeship program.
  • Apprentice I requires 0–2,000 apprenticeship hours; basic understanding of electrical concepts is a plus but not required.
  • Apprentice II requires 2,001–4,000 apprenticeship hours and a developing understanding of electrical systems and wiring principles.
  • Apprentice III requires 4,001–6,000 apprenticeship hours and an understanding of electrical systems and wiring principles.
  • Apprentice IV requires 6,001–8,000 apprenticeship hours and a solid understanding of electrical systems and wiring principles.
  • Applicants must be able to regularly lift or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Applicants must be able to work on their feet for prolonged periods while using tools and performing repetitive actions involving frequent bending and stooping.
Responsibilities
  • Assist experienced electricians with installing and connecting electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and other components.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues and executing repairs and maintenance tasks as directed by senior team members.
  • Learn to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics to contribute to project execution.
  • Become familiar with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations to ensure compliance during electrical work.
  • Safely handle and use electrical tools and equipment under the guidance of experienced personnel.
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment and prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Develop the ability to identify and resolve electrical issues effectively.
  • Participate in electrical testing, inspections, and quality-control procedures to verify the integrity and functionality of installed systems.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members, supervisors, and clients to support project execution.
  • Seek professional development opportunities and continuously improve electrical knowledge and skills.
