What believers are saying

  • Waymark Care's recent $42M financing round will enable the company to scale its technology-enabled, community-based care model, potentially improving healthcare access for more Medicaid patients.
  • The high accuracy of Waymark Signal in predicting avoidable ER and hospital visits can lead to more effective interventions, reducing healthcare costs and improving patient outcomes.
  • The company's commitment to addressing social determinants of health, such as food, housing, and transportation, positions it as a leader in comprehensive, patient-centered care.

What critics are saying

  • The reliance on partnerships with health plans and primary care providers may limit Waymark Care's ability to expand rapidly if such partnerships are not secured or maintained.
  • The substantial resources required to address social needs detected in primary care may strain the company's financial and operational capacities.

What makes Waymark unique

  • Waymark Care's community-based approach ensures that care teams live and work in the same communities as their patients, providing personalized and convenient care unlike traditional healthcare models.
  • The company's proprietary machine learning technology, Waymark Signal, significantly outperforms conventional Medicaid risk models in predicting avoidable ER and hospital visits.
  • As a public benefit corporation, Waymark Care is legally obligated to consider the impact of its decisions on patients and the community, setting it apart from purely profit-driven competitors.
