Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Twelve to seventeen years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise application architecture, platform architecture, or AI/ML architecture, including leadership of large-scale enterprise initiatives, is required.
  • Deep hands-on and architectural experience with Generative AI, large language models, machine learning systems, retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, prompt design and orchestration, and AI application integration is required.
  • Proven expertise in cloud architecture and enterprise solution design on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is required.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, including AI/ML services, networking, storage, security, identity and access management, resilience, and performance optimization, is required.
  • Proven experience designing enterprise-scale, secure, resilient, and high-performing architectures for AI and data-driven applications is required.
  • Expertise in API architecture, microservices, distributed systems, event-driven patterns, enterprise integration, and platform design is required.
  • Strong understanding of AI governance, Responsible AI, model risk, compliance, testing, production controls, and control frameworks is required.
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps, continuous integration and continuous delivery, observability, monitoring, reliability engineering, and platform engineering concepts is required.
  • Ability to lead architecture discussions with senior executives and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders is required.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Own and drive enterprise-wide AI system architecture strategy across the full Generative AI platform stack, including shared services, orchestration layers, model integration, APIs, data flows, and downstream enterprise systems.
  • Define and govern reference architectures, design standards, architecture principles, integration patterns, and cloud design approaches for AI platforms and AI-enabled applications.
  • Provide strategic technical leadership on scalable, secure, resilient, and compliant AI system design across the organization.
  • Lead architecture decisions for cloud and hybrid AI environments on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring interoperability, platform reuse, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Establish reusable enterprise patterns for retrieval-augmented generation, model serving, prompt orchestration, agentic AI workflows, AI gateways, and service integration.
  • Chair or lead architecture governance forums, review major solution designs, resolve technical trade-offs, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Partner with business leaders, product teams, engineering, cloud, security, risk, data, and operations teams to align architecture strategy with business priorities.
  • Ensure AI solutions comply with Responsible AI, governance, data controls, model risk, testing standards, security requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Drive architecture assessments, technical due diligence, platform modernization, proof-of-concept direction, and production onboarding standards for AI systems.
  • Guide enterprise decisions on platform capabilities, shared services, build-versus-buy evaluations, and modernization opportunities.
  • Influence and mentor architects and engineering leaders to improve design quality, architectural consistency, and adoption of enterprise AI standards.
  • Represent the Architecture function in senior governance and leadership forums.

State Street names Tim Helyar as head of Asia Pacific. Helyar succeeds Lochiel Crafter, who recently retired, and reports to Stefan Gmuer, head of International. 9 September 2026 State Street Corporation today appointed Tim Helyar as head of Asia Pacific, effective immediately, supporting the company's regional growth strategy. Based in Hong Kong, Helyar (pictured) will oversee State Street's Asia Pacific business strategy, partnering with country, functional and business leaders to strengthen governance, deepen client and regulator engagement and accelerate regional growth. He succeeds Lochiel Crafter, who recently retired, and reports to Stefan Gmuer, head of International. "Tim is a proven leader with deep investment services expertise and a strong track record of delivering for clients," said Gmuer, in a statement. "His regional knowledge and collaborative leadership will help advance our growth strategy across Asia Pacific, while supporting regional clients as they seek to unlock growth, gain efficiencies and seize new opportunities." Helyar has more than 27 years of financial services experience across investment services, pension, investment and wealth management. He joined State Street in 2021 and was most recently head of Australia. Previously, he was head of fund services product development for Asia Pacific at JP Morgan. State Street Corporation has acquired a 5.49% voting stake in Inghams Group Limited, becoming a substantial shareholder effective 4 September 2026. The investment firm and its subsidiaries hold relevant interest in 20,410,450 ordinary shares.
