  • Deep knowledge of vehicle communication networks and protocols (Physical and Application layer, e.g. CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet, DBCs, etc.)
  • Understanding of the embedded systems that control via these networks
  • Solid understanding of how to interface to Infotainment systems and functions
  • Appreciation of Infotainment systems and communication networks in safety critical systems
  • Ability to create & negotiate targets and requirements with OEMs and Waymo adjacencies

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for Vehicle platform Infotainment systems and communication networks
  • Write detailed requirements for Waymo embedded software adjacencies
  • Own redundancy analysis of communications networks
  • Help create Verification and Validation (V&V) plans
  • Work with embedded software teams during implementation
  • Manage delivery timing of feature sets and updates to vehicle prototype fleet software
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Physics or similar
  • At least 3 years experience in an automotive (or similar industry) electrical communication networks, Infotainment systems and software role
  • Working knowledge of vehicle communication network systems (CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Experience in fail-safe and fail-tolerant system design
  • Experience mapping out design and requirements for complex vehicles
  • Strong root-cause analysis mindset to problem solving
