- The employee must test and monitor radiology equipment for proper function and follow federal and state regulations, manufacturer guidelines, infection control requirements, and OSHA guidelines, including personal protective equipment use.
- Assemble supplies and positioning aids according to physician preference cards.
- Perform x-ray procedures in operating and special procedure rooms as a member of the surgical team.
- Process images and ensure proper equipment calibration.
- Prepare supplies and equipment for cases and contribute to preparation for the following day’s cases.
- Ensure all personnel are shielded before activating x-ray equipment.
- Maintain aseptic technique during procedures.
- Remain available during procedures to provide timely support.
- Document radiation exposure in patient records.
- Assist with inventory control and suite turnover and cleaning.
- Provide support to staff, physicians, and visitors.
- Serve as a resource to other staff members.
- Participate in staff education, quality improvement activities, and staff meetings.
- Maintain required certifications and assist in emergencies.
- Support new employee and student orientation and training.
- Work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in surgical settings.
