Requirements
  • One to three or more years of experience providing customer service in a call center environment or provider's office, preferably in healthcare.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of customer service ethics, principles, and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and analytical abilities.
  • Extensive keyboarding skills, including the ability to talk and document simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, instant messaging, and Outlook.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining the flow of a conversation and typing at least 40 words per minute.
  • Applicants must be available to work any assigned shift beginning between 6:45 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming customer phone calls and written inquiries from clients, providers, and members about eligibility, benefits, and claim status.
  • Research and troubleshoot inquiries and provide information that helps callers understand and use their benefit plans.
  • Serve members, providers, brokers, and clients by accurately quoting eligibility, benefit, and claim-status information through calls and written communication.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to report and resolve inquiries and prevent recurring issues.
  • Follow up with callers in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Listen for understanding and address questions on a range of topics.
  • Strive for first-call resolution by taking ownership of the customer experience.
  • Perform multiple tasks and navigate multiple systems to investigate and respond to customer needs.
  • Document phone conversations promptly, recording key themes and resolutions.
  • Raise recurring issues and questions with management for further review.
  • Develop job proficiency and meet performance goals.
