Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist or National Strength and Conditioning Association-Certified Personal Trainer certifications are required, along with CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities and motivate and supervise student-athletes using a traditional evangelical Christian approach.
  • Initiative and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to remain active, hands-on, fully engaged, and alert while supervising all workouts.
  • Thorough understanding of and readiness to implement the Colorado Christian University Emergency Response Team protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, analytical abilities, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ who accepts the stated Christian faith requirements.
  • Ability to communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace, with a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
  • Regular attendance and meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church, knowledge of the Word of God, and passion for Christian education.
  • Traditional evangelical Christian lifestyle compatible with Colorado Christian University's Statement of Faith and Strategic Priorities.
  • Ability to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends; participate in campus activities and events; walk, stand, sit, reach, balance, stoop, speak clearly, and demonstrate appropriate vision and hearing; and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Create, monitor, and supervise student-athlete individual and team strength and conditioning workouts.
  • Collaborate with coaches to create appropriate and motivating team and individual preseason, season, and postseason strength and conditioning workouts.
  • Monitor team and individual workouts to ensure maximum effort and safe technique.
  • Conduct incremental preseason and postseason performance assessments measuring growth in strength, flexibility, speed, and conditioning.
  • Create and monitor optional team summer workouts and provide summer facility hours for athletes.
  • Manage all strength and conditioning records electronically.
  • Ensure that strength and conditioning equipment and facilities are in excellent working order.
  • Model, demonstrate, and ensure correct techniques that optimize safety and growth during workouts.
  • Attend games and contests when assigned to facilitate pregame warm-ups and dynamic stretching.
  • Collaborate with coaches and athletic trainers to implement and facilitate return-to-play protocols for injured athletes.
  • Serve as a game administrator when multiple events require additional game administrative coverage.
  • Support student-athletes' spiritual growth by modeling a Christ-like attitude, mentoring, encouraging, and praying with them, and challenging their personal and athletic development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of two to five years of strength and conditioning experience at the National Collegiate Athletic Association level is preferred.
