Requirements
  • Bachelors degree or 8 years education and work experience; plus experience and knowledge in operations of business
  • Perform detail-oriented tasks utilizing high language skills and intermediate math skills
  • Employ good written and oral communication skills
  • Read and analyze complex information
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
Responsibilities
  • Check requisitions, obtain quotations, examine bids and awards jobs
  • Develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels
  • Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value
  • Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
  • Identify, define, and recommend issues for quality control
  • Interpret technical data in mathematical or diagrammatical form
  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Recommend new policies or procedures as necessary
  • Plan and establish production schedules and follow-up performance against estimates
  • Supervise assembly of statistical data on demand patterns, usage, etc.
  • Approve process specification and design standards for processes within area of responsibility
  • Manage planning functions on a day-to-day basis
  • Maintain inventory records and requisitions, ingredients/supplies as necessary to meet delivery schedules
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities between departments
  • Understand and meet or exceed quality standards; seek to minimize error rate
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts. Support and help to implement new ideas
  • Assist in any and all areas assigned
