Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Incumbent functions as lead to other Admit Workers, assisting with work flow and resolution of complex or unusual issues. Registers patients and verifies insurance and/or third party coverage. Schedules, confirms, and cancels patient appointments. Performs general clerical and reception duties. What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

Previous experience with computer registration and registration scheduling system

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Must demonstrate general understanding of medical terminology

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must be able to travel to off site physician practices

Minimum one (1) year recent experience (within past five (5) years) registering patients in a hospital or clinic, working as a Medical Assistant or working in medical billing

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Demonstrated experience using MS Office

Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to interpret and understand various medical insurance plans and make accurate determinations regarding coverage

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms

Familiarity of Joint Commission standards

Experience with Epic

Bilingual in English and Spanish
