Requirements
  • A good understanding of substance use issues and experience working with people.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to produce defensible documentation.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of family services, frameworks, and interventions for whole-family practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with professionals, agencies, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage change while prioritising service-user needs.
  • Professional curiosity, caseload management, and flexibility to deliver personalised treatment and care.
  • Understanding of information-governance processes and commitment to applying necessary safeguards.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and contributing to the learning and development of others.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  • Existing right to work in the United Kingdom; the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Support individuals and families affected by substance use.
  • Work intensively with families experiencing drug- and alcohol-related challenges.
  • Facilitate individual and group interventions, including one-to-one support and group programmes.
  • Work with the wider team to identify and respond to needs.
  • Promote recovery, resilience, and social reintegration into the community.
  • Liaise with third-sector and statutory services.
  • Make onward referrals to specialist services.
  • Develop and deliver support services for families and carers in collaboration with local organisations, mutual-aid groups, volunteers, and treatment teams.
