Guest House Assistant

Perform a variety of custodial and general housekeeping duties involving the care of and cleaning of the Guest House. Perform general housekeeping duties involving the cleaning/sanitizing and stocking of supplies, equipment uses (scrubbers, high speed and low speed floor machines, carpet cleaners, carpet extractors, wet vacs, etc.) in the Guest House.  Will also perform customer service responsibilities around reservations, payments, refreshments/breakfast.

Responsibilities:

• Clean, scrub, mop, shampoo and polish floors
• Clean walls, windows, woodwork, venetian blinds, fixtures, carpets, entrance/exit mats and other surfaces. 
• Sweep and clean walkways 
• Clean Showers in guest rooms
• Clean and disinfect restrooms 
• Empty trash containers and sanitize such containers to meet college standards and sanitary requirements on a as needed basis.
• Change attachments to necessary equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment/tools.
• Pull trash and recycling and place in assigned locations for pick up.
• Keep inventory of tools and supplies needed to complete all necessary task
• Work some holidays
• Maintain a welcoming environment for students/staff/guests
• Maintain good employee relations
• Makeovers/clean for guest rooms
• Handle reservations – check in/check outs, including room payments.
• Reply to general inquiries.
• Set up breakfast for guests.
• Run a nightly report

Required Qualifications:

• HS Diploma and minimum one year experience
• Willingness to take directions but able to assess needs and take action when necessary
• Ability to work well as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to learn the reservation software
• Ability to work unsupervised if necessary
• Knowledge of the campus and surrounding area a plus
