Requirements
  • At least 2 years of medical experience, preferably in a hospital-based Imaging department.
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills when interacting with healthcare team members and patients.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and prioritize as needed.
  • Ability to solve problems and address scheduling-related issues.
  • Proficiency with computers, scanners, telephones, fax machines, and copy machines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all age levels served within the scope of the position or assigned areas.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to workplace health and safety, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor the fax work queue for incoming requests from non-Sturdy providers and schedule examinations with provider offices and patients.
  • Work with Imaging technologists to ensure appropriate scheduling of examinations and procedures.
  • Coordinate multiple examination requests to ensure examinations are performed in a timely manner.
  • Multitask and follow up on work in progress.
  • Perform general and secondary tasks as needed or assigned.
  • Use the electronic medical record and a scheduling request pool to process requests for booking patients for imaging and electroencephalography studies.
  • Notify referring providers of issues or questions arising during the booking process and work to resolve them.
  • Confirm that appropriate insurance preauthorizations have been obtained and document detailed information.
  • Contact patients by telephone to inform them of scheduled appointment dates and times and relay relevant examination requirements or preparation instructions.
  • Notify referring providers' offices of patient appointment information through the provider pool.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist patients and referring provider offices with booking examinations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, preferably imaging-related.
  • Familiarity with Meditech.
  • Prior experience with Cerner.
