Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related scientific field is required.
  • The position requires the ability to perform analytical techniques and use instrumentation including high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, gel permeation chromatography, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Karl Fischer analysis, potentiometric titrations, spectrophotometry, and kinematic viscometry.
  • The position requires the ability to safely handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals, including toxic, flammable, corrosive, and lachrymatory materials.
  • The position requires the ability to interpret technical and numerical data.
  • The position requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • The position requires the ability to follow written procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and work within International Organization for Standardization quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze specialty monomers, polymers, and other specialty chemical products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform analytical testing using high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, gel permeation chromatography, Karl Fischer analysis, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, spectrophotometry, and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Interpret and document analytical results accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Follow Quality Control laboratory procedures, International Organization for Standardization standards, and safety requirements during daily operations.
  • Investigate laboratory non-conformance events and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Communicate testing results, issues, and priorities effectively with Quality Control management and cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain laboratory records, reports, and notebooks in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Quality Control laboratory processes and analytical methods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the International Organization for Standardization Quality Management System is preferred.
  • Interest in working second shift on four 10-hour shifts from Monday through Thursday, 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM, is preferred.
