- Four to eight years of previous experience in construction engineering.
- Experience with applicable computer software, including Microsoft Office, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Primavera P6 Scheduling, AASHTOWare, and GoFormz.
- Ability to obtain and maintain ODOT/OTIC construction-related pre-qualifications based on agency requirements.

- A valid driver's license and favorable driving record are required.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Construction Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited institution.
- ODOT/OTIC construction pre-qualifications are required.
- Work under the supervision of a Project Manager or senior-level team members.
- Serve as Resident Engineer and/or Project Inspector on construction projects.
- Communicate with department leaders to understand project scope.
- Oversee daily inspection of work performed by the contractor.
- Record daily construction activities, quantities, contractor equipment, and on-site personnel.
- Schedule and facilitate construction progress meetings.
- Review and approve contractor shop drawing submittals.
- Monitor the overall project budget and review and approve contractor pay requests before submitting them to the owner for payment.
- Review and approve contractor change orders.
- Schedule and review material testing and ensure results meet project requirements and specifications.
- Coordinate with other engineers and surveyors regarding project requirements.
- Provide survey support as necessary.
- Provide civil engineering design and drafting support for bridge, site, roadway, and traffic work as necessary.
- Obtain and maintain safety certifications and client pre-qualifications, including ODOT/OTIC qualifications.
