  • Foot traffic in North Texas rose 25%, and On Demand bookings increased 17%.
  • Nearly half of Fortune 100 companies now use WeWork, supporting enterprise retention.

What critics are saying

  • CBRE's Industrious and IWG's Regus pressure pricing and enterprise renewals in 2026.
  • Legacy lease litigation like 430 California Street still threatens cash and management time.
  • A failed occupancy rebound would strand fixed costs and reopen insolvency risk by 2027.

What makes WeWork unique

  • WeWork still owns a recognizable global brand with 600-plus locations across 45 million square feet.
  • John Santora's 2024 reset cut leverage and shifted growth toward profit, not empire-building.
  • WeWork Go extends the brand beyond offices into airport and convention-center micro-workspaces.

WeWork expands to 54,000 sq ft in Plano's Legacy business park

WeWork is expanding its presence in Plano's Legacy business park, signing a nearly 27,000-square-foot lease at Legacy Town Center II. The addition brings its total space at the site to nearly 54,000 square feet across two floors, with the new workspace expected to open this summer. The expansion follows strong regional performance, with foot traffic at North Texas WeWork locations up 25% since the start of the year and On Demand bookings rising 17%. The new floor will feature enhanced acoustics, lighting, coworking lounges and private offices. WeWork emerged from bankruptcy debt-free in 2025, returning to profitability with nearly $2.3 billion in revenue. Nearly half of the Fortune 100 are now WeWork members, according to Time magazine.

Built in partnership with Bureau, they use environmentally responsible materials. Users can book pods instantly via the WeWork Go app at flexible rates that vary by location and session length. WeWork launches phone booth-sized office pods in post-bankruptcy comeback

WeWork has launched WeWork Go, a private office pod designed for busy professionals in high-traffic locations like airports and hotels. The product, available in single-user and four-person models, marks the coworking company's first new offering since July 2022. The launch represents a dramatic shift for WeWork, which once held a $47 billion valuation under founder Adam Neumann before filing for bankruptcy in 2023 with $18 billion in debt. Now private with shares trading around five cents, the company is profitable with 550,000 members across over 600 locations under CEO John Santora. WeWork has adopted an asset-light model, franchising many locations and partnering with over 2,000 third-party coworking spaces. Santora, a former Cushman & Wakefield executive, says the transparent pods will test whether the company's entrepreneurial culture can thrive at a smaller scale.

WeWork grows NYC footprint to 3.3M sq ft with new Fifth Avenue lease

WeWork has signed a lease for 37,000 square feet at 511 Fifth Avenue, expanding its New York City portfolio to 3.3 million square feet across 36 Manhattan locations. The deal marks a resurgence for the coworking company following its 2023 bankruptcy. The company now operates 45 million square feet globally, taking a disciplined approach under CEO John Santora, who joined in 2024. This contrasts sharply with founder Adam Neumann's era of overexpansion, when WeWork accumulated $13 billion in lease obligations whilst claiming to be a technology company. WeWork emerged from bankruptcy in June 2024 after Yardi Systems invested $337 million as part of a $450 million restructuring. The company is now "growing again, sensibly and sustainably", according to global head of real estate Peter Greenspan.
