Requirements
  • Obtain a Life and Health license within six weeks of hire.
  • Have the ability to multitask and prioritize work, with basic word-processing and spreadsheet computer skills.
  • Have operational knowledge of Windows-based applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and current Internet technologies.
  • Be willing to work overtime due to the cyclical nature of the business, primarily from August through December.
  • Master all Account Manager duties and demonstrate proficiency in researching and accessing best-practice documentation.
  • Demonstrate cooperation and effective communication with clients, vendors, and internal coworkers.
  • Service clients effectively through problem solving, appropriate confidentiality, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tactfulness.
Responsibilities
  • Enter client data into Benefit Point to complete requests for proposals and prospect or opportunity reports.
  • Update the Client Rates and Plans tab with final agreed information within five workdays of client acceptance of a renewal or new-business presentation.
  • Provide support for the Account Executive through the duties and responsibilities listed in the job description and Benefits Timeline.
  • Research and answer client questions regarding benefit plans, claims, and billings; update Benefit Point activities and adhere to the Benefits Timeline.
  • Assist the bSwift team with client website setup as directed by the Benefits Operations Manager.
  • Maintain the online client binder according to department guidelines.
  • Coordinate workflows according to activities created through the Benefits Timeline.
  • Act as a lead for other Account Managers in the absence of the Account Executive.
  • Create and release requests for proposals to carriers by the due date specified in the Benefits Timeline.
  • Create and maintain the marketing binder according to department guidelines and the Benefits Timeline.
  • Follow up with carriers to ensure they have everything needed to quote, submit missing information, review quotes for accuracy, and ensure quotes are received by the request-for-proposal deadline.
  • Prepare and review spreadsheets for accuracy according to department guidelines and the Benefits Timeline.
  • Finalize and review formal proposal spreadsheets and other included materials for accuracy, including copying, printing, and binding materials as needed.
  • Prepare and develop communication booklets according to department guidelines and the Benefits Timeline.
  • Conduct enrollment meetings as necessary.
  • Gather ICAF, Milliman, and DMW data and submit it to carriers; compile information for the Senior Account Consultant or Executive Team Lead according to department guidelines and the Benefits Timeline.
  • Create aggregate reports upon the Account Executive's request for use in client analysis.
  • Initiate stewardship reports from workflows and activities in Benefit Point.
  • Submit Medicare Part D disclosure letters to clients according to the Benefits Timeline.
  • Compile carrier data and submit Schedule A documents to clients according to department guidelines and the Benefits Timeline.
  • Prepare annual notices for mail, email, or distribution and request processing dates from the Account Manager to ensure appropriate annual distribution.
  • Expand technical skills by participating in technical skill development.
  • Complete Bisys correspondence courses for major lines of business, including health, life, disability income insurance, group insurance, and health savings accounts.
  • Begin participation in the Group Benefits Associate certification.
  • Participate in EBIA webinars for 12 hours of continuing education, with a goal of attending all sessions.
  • Provide support to the Senior Account Consultant or Account Executive as directed.
  • Service multiple client renewals successfully under the mentorship of the Account Executive or trainer.
Desired Qualifications
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish capability is a major plus.

Marsh beats Q1 estimates with $7.6B revenue, $3.29 EPS as organic growth hits 5%

Marsh reported Q1 revenue of $7.6 billion, up 7.6% year-over-year, beating the consensus estimate of $7.38 billion by 2.88%. Earnings per share came in at $3.29, compared to $3.06 in the prior-year quarter, surpassing the consensus estimate of $3.21 by 2.46%. Key metrics showed mixed performance against analyst expectations. Consolidated organic revenue growth of 5% exceeded the 3.5% estimate, whilst consulting organic growth of 5% topped the 4.4% forecast. However, Guy Carpenter's organic growth of 2% fell short of the 4.2% estimate. Geographically, Marsh's EMEA division generated $1.21 billion in revenue, up 14.1% year-over-year and beating estimates. Mercer consulting revenue reached $1.66 billion, an 11% increase that surpassed the $1.58 billion consensus.
