Requirements
  • B. S or M.S. in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in satellite communications
  • 14+ years of work experience in Satellite RF communication systems
  • 14+ years of work experience in RF testing in Ka bands
  • Hands-on experience using RF test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, satellite channel emulator)
  • Strong understanding of RF engineering Principles and Design Practices
  • Integration of various Antenna types like FlatPanel/Dual parabolic
  • Demonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation and coding
  • Experience with satellite link budget analyses
  • Experience in test case and defect tracking tools (Jira, Jama)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams, and partners/suppliers
Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining system verification and validation plans of the Telesat LEO constellation communication system
  • Participating in various testing activities across the Telesat Leo system with vendors and other partners
  • Maintaining the lab
  • Issuing recommendations and influencing system verification and validation of the Telesat LEO system
  • Developing system and sub-system verification matrices against system requirements
  • Coordinating and participating in RF and system level testing activities
  • Serving as an RF expert and supporting other technical staff
  • Playing an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities
  • Configuring test equipment like Satellite Link Emulators, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, etc.
  • Ensuring product under test meets technical, functional, performance, and business requirements
  • Keeping the lab functional and up to date with known hardware and software configuration
  • Working with various Antenna Vendors to integrate User Terminals
  • Working with partners and other vendors in various test campaigns
