Requirements
  • One to three years of mechanical experience in a residential, commercial, or industrial capacity is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and prior experience in solar commercial or industrial mechanical fields are required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • The ability to use basic hand tools is required.
  • The ability to work on-site and underground at industrial locations, in extreme temperatures and environments, and at various heights is required.
  • The ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motion tasks such as bolt torquing and installing brackets is required.
  • Completion of a thorough background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required, along with participation in random, post-accident, and reasonable-suspicion testing.
Responsibilities
  • Install mechanical and electrical components of solar energy systems.
  • Work safely around the alternating-current and direct-current wiring of solar arrays and systems.
  • Run conduit and cables from solar panels to combiner boxes.
  • Assist with the layout and construction of solar modules, arrays, and mounting hardware.
  • Mount mechanical and structural racking, modules, and electrical equipment.
  • Provide general labor for construction, industrial, and mechanical projects.
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience with piles, racking, and/or modules.
  • Previous leadership experience in mechanical solar site construction.
  • Previous experience leading small crews in the installation of solar piles, racking, and/or modules.
  • Experience operating pile-driving equipment such as a PD-10 or equivalent.
