Clearway operates as a marketplace that helps the public find lawyers. It hosts a large directory of legal professionals (over a million lawyers on the platform) and serves about 125,000 monthly users who search for attorneys. Users can browse lawyer profiles and connect with lawyers through the platform. The product works by aggregating lawyer information into an accessible online directory and facilitating connections between people seeking legal help and available lawyers, rather than requiring users to contact a firm directly. Clearway differentiates itself through its massive network reach and growth momentum, including a strong partnership history (notably with Rian Gauvreau of Clio) and high engagement metrics, which position it for scaling its marketplace more efficiently than traditional directories. The company’s stated goal is to raise a seed round to accelerate growth and expand its ability to match a large audience with suitable legal professionals.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Clearway Time launched in 2026, opening a second revenue stream beyond marketplace leads.
  • The company claims 125,000 monthly users and over one million lawyer profiles.
  • Its public-access positioning fits rising demand for faster lawyer discovery and intake automation.

What critics are saying

  • SRA warned in January 2026 and July 2026 about fake solicitor profiles on Clearwaylaw.com.
  • Those identity-misuse warnings damage trust and invite regulator scrutiny across the UK and Canada.
  • If lawyers distrust profile accuracy, the marketplace collapses into low-quality lead generation.

What makes Clearway unique

  • Clearway combines lawyer profiles, client education, and referral matching in one marketplace.
  • Its Clearway Time SaaS adds intake, referral-fee management, and compliance workflows.
  • LinkedIn lists 11-50 employees, suggesting a lean team versus incumbent legal directories.
