Requirements
  • Possess an earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in information technology as appropriate to the program; alternatively, possess an earned related or out-of-field master's degree with documentation in at least two specified areas, or possess an earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology as appropriate to the program with documentation in at least two specified areas.
  • For the related or out-of-field master's degree route, provide documentation in two or more of the following: professional certification in the field; two years of in-field professional employment; documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence, including date of award; documentation of research and publication in the field; or documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, continuing education units, vendor, or military coursework.

  • Conduct all responsibilities within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi.
  • Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and contribute to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Develop and implement active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner and comply with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
  • Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
  • Perform other duties logically associated with the position as assigned.
