MongoDB has a great opportunity for a HR Business Partner.
HRBPs at MongoDB are responsible for helping business unit leaders and their leadership teams develop and implement a people and culture strategy that best supports their business needs. They act as coaches, trusted advisors, change agents, consultants and thought partners on all things talent within the business. They work closely with other teams within the People Team to perform their role and responsibilities - this includes Employee Experience, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, Engagement & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition, HR Operations and People Analytics.
This Sr HRBP role is the ideal opportunity for someone who has extensive HR functional knowledge, and thrives in having multiple and different strategic interactions with business leaders and excels at facilitating Business as Usual (BAU) talent activities (ex: Performance cycles, Engagement surveys, etc).
The role can be based out of our New York, Austin or Palo Alto offices with the ability to travel to relevant offices
Key Responsibilities
- Builds relationships with leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution
- Adopts the culture of the organization and embodies our values and leadership principles
- Develops a commercial understanding of the business to appropriately guide and influence leaders on their talent agenda
- Applies expertise in the following areas: performance management, career planning, coaching, analysis of people data, compensation (cash and equity), complex employee relations issues, learning and development, and recognition programs.
- Leverages data and other metrics to proactively identify and present solutions based on business needs. Identifies and surfaces trends through both qualitative and quantitative data to help drive impact in the business
- Partners and drives results alongside other CoEs in the People Team (i.e. Recruiting, Employee Experience, Engagement and Inclusion, Learning and Development and Compensation) to help the People Team implement solutions that support and scale the business
- Leads the people cycles throughout the year to include compensation reviews, performance evaluations, engagement survey action planning, talent reviews and calibrations and promotion evaluations
- We are evolving our systems and processes to catch up with our tremendous growth; you will spend time iterating between strategic work and transactional responsibilities (i.e. responsible for data integrity, shepherding employee transactions, as well as reviewing and approving job offers)
The right candidate for this role will have
- 10+ years of HR experience creating measurable impact on a major business unit, preferably in a high-growth technology company
- At least 5 years of experience as an HRBP
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Senior Leadership (i.e. Vice President level)
- Excited and passionate about making an impact and tackling challenges
- Has demonstrated solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative to the business
- Has an entrepreneurial spirit - we have a lot to build, so adaptability and flexibility will serve you well.
- Can solve challenges and get to the root cause of any issue, no matter how complex. Design and quickly implement solutions that may cut across multiple disciplines.
- Experience influencing decision making
- Is self-motivated and assertive with the ability to hunt down answers and drive solutions autonomously
- Equally comfortable partnering with employees and leadership and moving regularly between the tactical and strategic priorities.
- Able to travel to relevant offices and leadership offsites on a recurring basis (ex: 1-2 times/quarter)
- Global experience is a plus

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$108,000—$202,000 USD
