Chief Engineer

A design led lifestyle hotel, Hotel Park Ave sits at the heart of the NoMad neighborhood on one of Manhattan’s most famous streets. The hotel, recently refurbished by the Lore Group design team, unveiled refreshed rooms, a new lobby and nine new suites. New restaurants and bars will be announced soon.

The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, ensuring the smooth operation of all technical and mechanical systems. This role involves managing the engineering team, developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. The Chief Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the hotel's infrastructure, contributing to the hotel's business strategy, and enhancing the guest experience through high-quality facility management.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical / Operations

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Manage the hotel's energy conservation program.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and installations.

Financials / Business Strategy

• Develop and manage the engineering department budget.
• Monitor and control expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Contribute to the hotel's business strategy by providing insights on facility improvements and upgrades.
• Ensure all engineering projects are completed within budget and on time.

People / Culture

• Manages the annual performance management process and cycle via Workday.
• Coach employees to enhance performance and improve the overall performance of the engineering team.
• Foster a positive work environment that aligns with the Lore Group's values of Family, Discovery, Detail, and Spirit.
• Conduct regular training sessions to ensure staff are up-to-date with the latest industry standards and practices

Guest Experience / Other

• Ensure all guest-facing facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
• Respond promptly to guest complaints and resolve issues related to hotel facilities.
• Carry’s out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the line manager

Compensation and Benefits;

Salary:$120,000 per annum
