Requirements
  • Working knowledge of US Space Force (USSF) Space Competencies
  • Working knowledge of Commercial, Civil, and Department of Defense space capabilities and operations
  • Working knowledge and experience with training and education systems and programs
  • Working knowledge of, and experience with, Department of Defense operational level command and control
  • Working knowledge of US Space strategies, policies and doctrine
  • Working knowledge of United States Combatant Commands
  • Working knowledge of United States partners in space
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (8 years of experience in a relevant field may be substituted for the education requirement)
  • Security Clearance: Top-Secret clearance and Special Compartmented Information eligibility required
  • Travel up to 25% annually, including occasional weekend
Responsibilities
  • Postgraduate level adult education instructor and curriculum developer
  • Instruct in areas of subject matter expertise and additional subject areas as required, supporting online, blended, in-resident and mobile courses of the National Security Space Institute as able and required
  • Qualify and deliver classroom instruction as assigned consistent with Instructional System Development (ISD) principles and NSSI Instructions to satisfy government course delivery requirements
  • Curriculum developer: design, develop, implement, and maintain lesson plans and materials within the United States Air Force Instructional System Development (ISD) guidelines to satisfy government educational requirements
  • Interface with internal and external agencies and customers as required to maintain up-to-date education program materials; provide strategic guidance in the adoption of modern digital learning experiences, identification of knowledge and skills gaps, and creation of new learning paths to support space expertise at scale
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of Air Force Instructor Course or equivalent Joint Service or civilian course/degree
  • Experience with DoD training/education, including planning, developing, and delivering instruction in accordance with the ISD model, training records keeping and documentation
  • Familiarity with US Space Force organizations, Guardian development and strategic direction
