Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field.
- A minimum five years of experience leading an EHS program.
- Understanding of all applicable Federal, State, Local regulations, and industry requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in leading investigations and root-cause analysis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience in developing and leading training programs.
- Experience leading without authority.
Responsibilities
- Recommend, develop, and implement programs for safe working conditions.
- Monitor and update company written environment, health, and safety policies.
- Assist in cultivating a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Maintain compliance with regulations and oversee worker's compensation issues.
- Promote continuous improvement of safety systems and regulatory compliance.
- Guide management and employees on ergonomic and safety-related opportunities.
- Provide strategic direction on EHS improvements and track KPIs.
- Maintain compliance on key EHS related initiatives, reporting requirements, and auditing.
- Lead and facilitate an Employee EHS Committee.
- Conduct inspection audits and establish training programs.
- Ensure compliance with required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Develop and implement a Contractor Safety Program.
- Oversee management of workers' compensation claims and return to work programs.
- Lead investigations for incidents, accidents, and near misses.
- Develop safety meeting material for Safety Coordinators.
