Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience as demonstrated by Professional Engineer certification.
  • Working knowledge in strength of materials and statistics calculations, and a basic understanding of fabrication, plus proven problem solving skills.
Responsibilities
  • Provide drawings and layouts for DuctSox products as required.
  • Provide sales support for field salespeople and regional sales managers.
  • Provide design input to sales and engineering staff.
  • Interface with internal contacts such as Sales Support, manufacturing and purchasing team members.
  • Design new or revise existing jobs and projects using design and engineering guidelines.
  • Assist Sales Support team with order entry needs.
  • Develop 3D solids of DuctSox and building components for Computation Fluid Dynamics.
  • Create CAD drawings for concepts, prototyping, testing and final product design documentation.
  • Maintain consistent organization and maintenance of any project information (e.g. drawing files, correspondence, etc.).
  • Identify projects requiring special engineering or new product development.
  • Participate in interdepartmental meetings to help support corporate goals.
  • Be able to read and understand plans and/or specifications, and provide drawings to meet project requirements.
  • Develop and enhance processes to provide continuous improvement to engineering and product improvement.
  • Interface with external contacts such as HVAC engineers, architects and DuctSox Reps.
  • Answer questions from representatives and customers in the support of DuctSox products.
  • Suggest or select materials, components and/or tolerances as appropriate to ensure product performance meets application needs.
  • Understand pricing structure of products to provide solutions to meet the budget and application requirements of the project.
  • The incumbent acts as a resource for information and advice regarding special applications.
  • This position is responsible for generating Bills of Material and Drawings as necessary to support procurement and manufacturing.
  • Be available to attend jobsite visits to review application needs. Possible overnight travel.

Rite-Hite acquires Johnson Equipment. Milwaukee-based material handling system manufacturer Rite-Hite Holding Corp. has acquired Johnson Equipment Co. Based in Dallas, Johnson Equipment has 300 employees at 15 regional offices in Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Mexico. The Johnson Equipment sales and service offices become part of a Rite-Hite network of company-owned distribution locations serving customers in the U.S., Canada, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Customers of Johnson Equipment will continue receiving the same service and support from the team they know. "We plan to take a thoughtful approach to integrating our businesses so we can capitalize on the best of both organizations," said Dan Anderson, president of global distribution at Rite-Hite.

Milwaukee-based Rite-Hite Holding Corporation has acquired Johnson Equipment Company in one of its largest acquisitions to date. The Dallas-based company employs 300 people across 15 regional offices in Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Mexico. Founded in 1959, the family-owned Johnson Equipment Company will join Rite-Hite's global distribution network spanning the USA, Canada, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Rite-Hite President and CEO Micaela Bomhack said the companies' cultures and values align perfectly, with shared focus on customer service, safety and innovation. Johnson Equipment customers will continue receiving service from the existing team. The acquisition expands Rite-Hite's company-owned distribution locations serving industrial equipment customers worldwide.
