Requirements
  • A degree-level or higher qualification in a scientific discipline, with a minimum GPA of 3.3, including biology, chemistry, pharmacy, or medicine.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a medical communications, medical affairs, or publications role outside academia, ideally in an agency setting.
  • Strong scientific writing skills and the ability to tailor writing style to different audiences.
  • Project management skills sufficient to enable timely project delivery.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of written accuracy.
  • Excellent proficiency in written English and arithmetic.
  • Experience supporting junior colleagues with their learning and development.
  • Excellent data presentation skills, including effective and efficient use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Sufficient technical and strategic knowledge to provide clients with recommendations on project content and approach.
  • The ability to maintain exceptional customer service and quality of deliverables under multiple competing demands.
  • Experience communicating directly with clients, responding to different communication styles, and building robust and sustainable client relationships.
  • The ability to motivate colleagues and take a leadership role in delivering project components.
  • Flexibility to contribute to a wide variety of projects across different accounts and disease areas, and the ability to familiarize oneself with new information quickly.
  • The right to work in the United States independently from the company; temporary visa holders such as those on OPT may be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Take a leading role across medical communication projects and ensure delivery to a high standard.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients and supervise project teams.
  • Produce high-quality scientific content.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed timelines.
  • Communicate regularly with clients.
  • Plan projects and review colleagues' work.
  • Provide constructive feedback.
  • Write scientific content.
  • Identify new clients, write proposals, and build and maintain client relationships.
  • Work across accounts spanning multiple disease areas and contribute to a variety of projects.
  • Complete written assessments, proofreading exercises, and presentations as part of the recruitment process.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior agency-setting experience in medical communications.
  • Experience in medical affairs and/or publications.
  • Experience delivering projects in medical communications for at least 2 years.
