Requirements
  • A technical background in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering is required.
  • Previous experience with detailed design and implementation of electrical circuits, software, and firmware is required.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills are required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science is required.
  • Relevant experience requirements vary by level: no prior relevant work experience for Professional, 2+ years for Intermediate Professional, and 5+ years for Advanced Professional.
  • Eligibility to obtain a government security clearance, participation in the ARL drug testing program, and compliance with electronic and physical monitoring requirements are required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
  • Interface with project stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure project success.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and subject matter experts.
  • Define system control and data architectures.
  • Perform systems engineering activities spanning the typical Department of Defense product development lifecycle.
  • Travel for stakeholder engagements as needed.
  • For higher-level positions, indirectly supervise and mentor other engineers.
  • For higher-level positions, monitor and track funding and budgets.
  • For higher-level positions, work independently on moderately complex assignments, review progress, and evaluate results.
  • Communicate with external audiences for scheduling and coordination.
  • Communicate with external audiences for business purposes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience developing and operating controls, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop test sets.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical design, simulation, and testing.
  • Experience working with standard laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes and function generators.
  • Training and experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals and project management.
  • Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary, team-oriented cultures.
  • Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher, with possible government background investigation requirements to upgrade clearance eligibility.
