Compensation Overview

The kind of person we’re looking for:

Paytronix’s SaaS platform produces a very high volume of data from different sources and formats. This data is engineered to produce a complex system of analytics for internal and external use. We have an existing Data Engineering team which is well-established, experienced and responsible for building the data pipelines and maintaining the data delivery SLAs to our customers. We are looking for a person to bring hands-on experience and leadership for the team.

The person should bring both the experience of having created success before and the curiosity to be always on the lookout for the innovation that we can best use to move the business forward. We are a highly team-oriented environment where collaboration between developers and across teams is common – particularly in this role as you will need to work with the Business Intelligence teams to understand their needs as well as the IT Operations team to ensure the data pipelines are monitored using our strong standards.

The kind of stuff you’ll be doing:

• Manage the team of data engineers where you will have the key responsibility for the data platform delivering on the promised SLAs. Define and implement processes that the data engineering team should follow internally and with other teams for the SLAs to be met
• Ensure that other KPIs such as performance, cost are well-defined and met
• Building scalable + durable data pipelines (ETLs). Develop and implement strategies, plans, and processes to ensure we are keeping up to date with ongoing innovations
• Work with different teams across the organization. Synthesize information effectively to be able to integrate the work of your team with the rest of the organization
• Work with the Product team to create requirements and design specifications
• Stay abreast of security threats as they emerge to ensure that data is kept safe and secure

The kind of experience/skills you’ll need:

• Strong experience with Snowflake. This is a must for this job
• Experience with SQL/Python, Git (or other version control tool). A part of the job will require you to work with code directly
• Ability to work on a SaaS platform, where SLAs are very important and must be met. Ability to build and manage the platform monitoring and support, on and off-hours
• Ability to work with other teams and use their input to define the road map for your team
• Experience working in an Agile environment, experience with managing the process of building and releasing software in a timely manner with high level of quality
• Experience working for a mid-size company
• Curious by nature and keeps up to date on the constantly changing landscape of tech on the market

The extra stuff that would be nice:

• Experience with some of the following technologies and platforms: Looker, Fivetran, HVR, dbt, Coalesce, scheduling/orchestration tool such as Airflow.

Salary Range: $165k - $182k
