We are seeking a skilled VFX Artist with a passion for crafting in-game AAA weapon, environment, and cinematic VFX content. Your work will drive the dynamic nature of our games and push the boundaries of real-time visual effects. You will join a team of passionate, driven creatives striving to set the visual bar for VFX and push the industry to new heights of realism, gameplay, and storytelling! You’ll have opportunities to work with seasoned mentors and expand your expertise in emerging technologies like Unreal Engine 5, Niagara, and Houdini.
Responsibilities:
- Produce photorealistic real-time visual effects, including explosions, fire, weapon effects, smoke, clouds, and debris using Unreal Engine and simulation tools such as Houdini.
- Collaborate with Environment, Lighting, Animation and Design to add VFX to gameplay features, scripted events, cinematics, and levels.
- Help test new workflows and proactively contribute to documentation.
- Optimize VFX for performance and memory use.
- Work with Leads and Production to estimate and plan VFX tasks for upcoming milestones, breakdown deliverables, and share updates.
Requirements & Skills:
- Experience creating realistic and compelling VFX for games.
- Experience using 3d game engines such as Unreal or Unity.
- A portfolio or reel including examples of real-time VFX in a cinematic or gameplay setting
- (Bonus) Experience with Unreal Engine 5 and Niagara Particle Systems.
- (Bonus) Experience with Houdini, Maya, and other 3d software.
Qualities:
- Self-motivated and able to work well in a multi-discipline team environment
- Artistic eye for volume, energy, weight, density, timing and other dynamic aesthetics.
- Understanding of in-game VFX performance, tuning and memory budgets.
- Understanding of PBR texture and shader generation workflows.

TNM considers a number of factors when determining each role’s base pay range, including industry benchmarks, location, experience, and other job specific skills. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for other incentive compensation including equity and profit share. The estimated base pay range for this role is U.S. only and not applicable for locations outside of the U.S.
The estimated base pay range for this role is: $77,000 - $116,000
