Requirements
  • Two to five years of construction observation and material testing experience.
  • A degree in engineering, geology, or construction management is preferred.
  • Engineer in Training, Geologist in Training, or Certified Welding Inspector credentials are a plus.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain ICC, NICET NECEPT, and ACI certifications.
  • Own reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enjoy working outdoors.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds unaided and up to 80 pounds with assistance, with frequent bending, hammering, and other repetitive movements.
  • Must have safety toe boots.
Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections including in-place nuclear density testing; concrete and masonry observation, sampling, and testing; steel reinforcement inspections; foundation evaluation with a Dynamic Cone Penetrometer and hand probe; subgrade evaluations via proofroll; hot mix and warm mix asphalt inspections and density testing; retaining wall observations; SFRM and intumescent fireproofing sampling and testing; floor levelness and floor flatness testing; structural steel inspections including welding and bolting; and chemical stabilization of soils via cement or lime.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with soil stabilization and intermediate and deep foundation systems.
  • Experience with Stormwater BMP critical stage inspections and infiltration testing.
  • Experience with carbonate assessment and sinkhole stabilization methods.
