As a PIP Claims Adjuster I, you will handle all aspects of first-party PIP and Medical Payments claims stemming from personal auto losses. Under moderate supervision using company guidelines, the adjuster should investigate claims through obtaining recorded statements and securing documentation to make appropriate decisions regarding coverage and mechanism of injury.

What you’ll do
- Promptly adjusts personal lines auto claims across the U.S. while adhering to company Best Practices and State Fair Claim Practice Guidelines
- Consistently provides excellent service to all customers
- Determines compensability and processes payments for mild to moderate level PIP and MP claims
- Communicates with directly with injured parties and/or their attorneys on coverage, treatment, and payment status
- Obtains and reviews necessary medical documentation in order to set appropriate reserves and subsequently monitors them for accuracy
- Identifies potential fraud indicators and subrogation opportunities throughout the life of the file
- Complete thorough coverage investigations and draft coverage letters
- Provide backup assistance to team members when necessary
- Effectively manage workload and tasks to keep claims current and documented appropriately
- Ability to work in multiple systems efficiently and effectively
This might describe you
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience handling PIP and Medical Payments claims in a multi-state environment is a plus.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office products.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in multiple jurisdictions is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Able to work with highly confidential information.
- Must be licensed and bondable.
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to become licensed and bonded in all states
- Familiarity of public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable.
