Requirements
  • Ten years of management experience working in talent management, leadership development, succession planning, and/or organizational development.
  • An understanding of the leadership development landscape.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Significant experience working cross-functionally with a diverse population.
  • Proven program and project management skills, with comfort working with details.
  • Willingness to perform data entry and ability to compile and perform data analysis.
  • Capability to align departmental tactics and organizational strategies.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with multiple constituents within and outside of Owen.
  • Style and demeanor to work effectively with and coach students.
  • Ability to flex between being a coach, facilitator, mentor, and consultant within individual interactions or facilitated group sessions to meet student and program needs.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding and knowledge of executive coaching.
  • Experience interviewing talent for an organization or as a manager.
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Track record of accountability for a budget.
  • Experience working with new and existing technology.
Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic goals and annual priorities for Leadership Development in conjunction with the Executive Director.
  • Work with the Executive Director and Faculty Director to support Owen’s mission, values, and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct mid-year and end-of-year strategic planning sessions and evaluate programs for continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships between the Leadership Development Program, faculty directors, graduate degree programs, and business partners.
  • Communicate with faculty directors and program committees and review budgets, program planning, and year-end process improvements.
  • Use data to identify pain points, solve problems, innovate, and determine key objectives.
  • Manage budgets for specific programs and projects.
  • Conduct needs assessments and design leadership development programming for distinct audiences and programs.
  • Conduct Hogan assessment debrief workshops and one-on-one follow-on debriefs for students.
  • Provide ongoing one-on-one leadership coaching to Owen students.
  • Partner with teammates, student organizations, staff, faculty, the Career Management Center, and Academic and Student Affairs teams to support student success and an inclusive environment.
  • Match students with coaches across Owen’s degree programs and manage and evaluate the matching process.
  • Serve as relationship manager for a designated subset of students and refer students to campus resources as needed.
  • Deliver and facilitate in-person and virtual workshops and group discussions.
  • Manage day-to-day operations for assigned programs and projects, including planning, logistics, space reservations, project-management software, and participant tracking.
  • Execute process improvements identified during planning sessions.
  • Co-manage the One Thousand Ways to Lead Podcast and student hosts, partner with Marketing Communications, monitor metrics, and promote the podcast.
  • Provide content for Inside Owen and refresh the external website as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree, such as an MBA or related master's degree.
  • Hogan Assessment certification and familiarity with Korn/Ferry leadership competencies and the VOICES 360 instrument.
  • Professional social media experience.
