Requirements
  • PhD or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state psychology license
  • Completed American Psychological Association or Canadian Psychological Association accredited clinical psychology graduate program, with an APA/CPA accredited internship
  • Eligible to sit for American Board of Professional Psychology certification in clinical psychology
  • Immediate eligibility for licensure in West Virginia is required
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and evidence-based treatment for adults with a range of psychiatric diagnoses, including those with forensic involvement
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Supervision and mentorship for WVU Psychiatry residents, forensic fellows, and trainees from other disciplines (capacity may be included)
  • Support the hospital's commitment to quality care for involuntarily committed patients, fostering recovery and rehabilitation
  • Practice at William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital in Weston, West Virginia
