  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 3 months of manufacturing experience is required.
  • Ability to follow established safety procedures is required.
  • Ability to set priorities and remain flexible in job assignments is required.
  • Hand-eye coordination is required.

  • Ability to meet job productivity expectations is required.
  • Ability to use project plans, schedules, defined processes, team structures, process methodologies, quality criteria, forums, scorecards, and performance metrics to ensure quality is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble a variety of basic blind styles according to established quality and timeliness standards.
  • Perform pre-assembly tasks such as cutting fabric or headrail, picking parts, final bagging and labeling, and weighing fabric or rail while entering data into the computer database.
  • Select blinds from carts according to procedures and priority guidelines.
  • Perform initial hand assembly to prepare blinds for hanging, inspection, and adjustment.
  • Hang blinds and perform initial inspections, including checking part fit and adjusting motors and clutches when applicable.
  • Make necessary adjustments and re-inspect blinds.
  • Complete assembly by adding end caps, adjusting snaps, and setting stops.
  • Perform quality, visual, and function/performance tests on blinds.
  • Interact with quality specialists to ensure quality guidelines are met.
  • Prepare blinds for packaging and shipment by stacking them and bagging them or placing them on carts for packaging, labeling, and shipment by another group.
  • Complete productivity paperwork related to blind assembly.
  • Work with Engineering on testing new products when assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, neat, and orderly work environment.
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment and tools.
  • Interact with Toolroom and Maintenance departments on equipment and tool repair and development of new equipment and tools.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures and attend scheduled safety meetings.
  • Attend daily huddles and other meetings to support smooth communication.
  • Identify process gaps using tools such as Baldrige criteria, Wisconsin Forward Award criteria, Great Place to Work criteria, individual development plans, and related tools.
  • Establish forums to share best practices.
  • Measure personal work against plans and report results at micro and macro levels.
