Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation from an accredited college/university. A post-graduate degree (MS Tax) or CPA is a plus.
  • Seven or more years of experience in public accounting at a Big Four firm.
  • Deep understanding of US indirect tax rules and reporting obligations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint) and experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Engine.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage large onshore and offshore teams.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
  • Providing expert indirect tax counsel on procurement and client contracts, ensuring alignment with WPP policy.
  • Enhancing company-wide indirect tax policies, maintaining robust SOX controls, and overseeing efficient reserves and recharge processes.
  • Confidently managing indirect tax audits and notices, minimizing risk and ensuring compliance.
  • Determining nexus for US entities and coordinating necessary registrations.
  • Staying ahead of evolving indirect tax laws and regulations, implementing necessary updates in our ERP finance systems, including the rollout of our new tax engine.
  • Supervising and mentoring a high-performing team in the US and India, reviewing and approving indirect tax filings.
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to provide timely and accurate information.
