Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in a marketing or demand generation role, with meaningful exposure to public sector and government audiences.
  • Demonstrated understanding of government procurement processes and the buying dynamics of public sector organizations.
  • Experience working directly with and activating government resellers and channel partners on joint go-to-market strategies.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience measuring and optimizing data-driven marketing programs.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication, presentation, project management, and writing skills, including the ability to craft messaging that resonates with institutional and compliance-focused buyers.
  • Comfort making decisions with imperfect information in an emerging, high-growth environment.
  • Experience marketing across multiple online and offline channels with a focus on driving leads and pipeline.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Clio’s growth strategy for the government segment, including federal, state/provincial, and municipal legal departments, public defenders, and legal aid organizations, by identifying and driving revenue opportunities.
  • Analyze all aspects of Clio’s marketing and sales funnel for the government segment, identify the largest areas of improvement, and implement strategies to capitalize on them while accounting for longer decision cycles, procurement requirements, and institutional buying dynamics.
  • Articulate and communicate plans and results with key stakeholders, including the executive team, translating a complex public-sector buyer landscape into clear strategy and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive cross-functional planning processes for government segment growth.
  • Lead partnerships with colleagues across Marketing, Sales, Revenue Operations, and Product to execute programs, monitor metrics and results, and adjust as needed to meet goals.
  • Own and activate government channel partners and resellers on an integrated, joint go-to-market strategy.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for the marketing team on demand generation and the government segment, surfacing insights on government legal buyers’ mandates, pain points, technology-adoption patterns, and procurement constraints.
  • Maintain multiple complex, scalable, end-to-end programs designed with specific goals aligned to the government segment’s growth trajectory.
  • Manage large portions of budgets, including negotiating and partnering with vendors, associations, and public-sector-relevant channels.
  • Build awareness and credibility with government legal audiences through targeted content, events, associations, and partnerships relevant to the public-sector legal community.

CallRail has expanded its partnership with Clio, integrating its Voice Assist AI tool with Clio Grow and Clio Manage platforms. The integration enables law firms to handle inbound calls and texts 24/7 using AI that can recognise existing clients, qualify new leads, and book consultations automatically. Voice Assist pulls client information from Clio to personalise interactions, greeting returning callers by name and skipping previously answered intake questions. For new callers, it runs standard intake procedures and creates contacts in Clio with full marketing attribution. The system schedules consultations directly into Clio Manage without requiring human intervention, including after-hours calls. CallRail serves more than 225,000 businesses worldwide. The integration is now available to law firms.

Clio acquires Jurisage to fuel AI expansion with Canada's largest legal database

Burnaby, BC-based Clio has acquired Toronto legaltech firm Jurisage to bolster its AI capabilities in Canada. The deal gives Clio access to one of Canada's most comprehensive AI-ready legal datasets, covering over 470,000 cases across more than 40 courts. Jurisage's 10-person team is joining Clio, which recently surpassed $500 million USD in annual recurring revenue and holds a $5-billion valuation. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition addresses gaps in Clio's Canadian legal database following its $1-billion USD purchase of vLex in 2025, which offered limited Canadian coverage. A recent Clio report found that 95 per cent of Canadian lawyers are using AI in their work. The move comes as foreign competitors like Harvey and Legora expand into the Canadian market.

Clio, a Canadian law firm management software company, has reached $500 million in annual recurring revenue, driven by AI integration. The 18-year-old company surpassed $200 million ARR in mid-2024 and doubled that figure by late last year.
