Requirements
  • Five years’ experience in a related security field of which two were in a supervisory position.
  • Excellent communications abilities.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification are required.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver’s license.
  • Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs for up to 2/3rds or more of a shift in the performance of normal duties.
  • Ability to drive vehicles in all types of weather.
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs. without assistance.
  • Normal vision and hearing required.
  • Basic computer knowledge and be able to generate letters and reports as appropriate.
  • General knowledge of fire safety, OSHA disaster response, disaster training and workplace safety.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, counseling, coaching, evaluating, and terminating staff for departments as per facility policies and procedures.
  • Conducts (90 day, 6 months, annual) performance reviews of department(s) personnel in a timely manner.
  • Establishes Safety, Security & Transportation & Department Policies and Procedures.
  • Annually reviews and updates policies as needed and presents to Compliance/Quality Assurance Committee.
  • Conducts formal weekly safety inspections and assigns Safety Committee inspectors.
  • Oversees budgets for Transportation and Security Departments.
  • Provides monthly financial reports as well as scheduled overtime reports.
  • Purchases and budgets pertinent capital needs for department.
  • Coordinates directly with other Leadership Team members to resolve interdepartmental issues.
  • Prepares Security and Transportation reports for presentation to staff and resident committees.
  • Participates in management/resident committees regarding Security and Transportation issues appropriate to the facility.
  • Implement all departmental goals developed as part of Strategic Planning, Action Plans to Resident Satisfaction Survey(s), and any other goals established for any other purposes.
  • Acts as the liaison between the facility and local police and fire departments.
  • Assumes a proactive role in resolving resident issues & concerns related to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Provides input to PSST through personal observations and those of staff regarding changes in resident conditions.
